Frequently Asked Questions About Work Injury

For your convenience, we've put together a list of some of the most commonly asked questions we receive about workplace injuries and chiropractic care.

What are the most common work injuries you see and treat?

There are a number of common work injury types we see in our office on a regular basis. Slip-and-fall injuries are very common and often result in back problems such as slipped and herniated discs. We also tend to see a lot of injuries caused by poor workplace ergonomics in both office workers and those who spend a lot of time on their feet. Other potential workplace injuries can include carpal tunnel syndrome, soft tissue injuries, and neck injuries (like whiplash).

How can chiropractic care help with treatment?

The good news is that chiropractic treatments can often be used not just to help patients find relief from pain, but to gradually heal the injury at its source. One of the more common treatments we often recommend for back and neck injuries, for example, is the chiropractic/spinal adjustment. This treatment allows us to correct imbalances in the spine without the need for invasive procedures or drugs. As a result, patients don't need to worry about side effects or other risks.

When will I be able to return to work?

This can vary greatly from one patient to the next and will depend on a number of factors. The severity of your injury will need to first be taken into account, along with your plan for treatment. The type of work you perform must also be considered, as those working a desk job may have an easier time going back to work after an injury than those who work a more physically demanding job.
